Description

The TaylorMade P790 irons meet the demands of better players and provide unprecedented distance in a forged iron, has the look and feel of a players iron and delivers forgiveness and playability. The P790 irons feature a wrapped face construction with ultra-thin leading edge and SpeedFoam Technology which serves a dual purpose of generating ball speed as well as optimizing sound and feel. For forgiveness and playability, the irons feature strategically placed tungsten weighting for precise CG placement and higher moment of inertia (MOI).

Features

  • Hollow-bodied player's distance iron filled with SpeedFoam Technology for tremendous feel and distance
  • Speed Pocket on the sole boost ball speeds on shots hit across the face
  • Tungsten toe weight increases MOI and controls CG location for optimal launch with each iron
  • Ultra-thin face increases the flex at impact, creating more ball speed and distance

First New Iron Set!

Review by Billie, 2 years ago.

“I have been playing with a hand me down set of Titleist Overside DCI irons since I started playing. I've always been a believer that until I consistently was hitting the ball pure that there was no need to go try out any new irons. After talking to a few friends who are much better than me they convinced me to go hit some new clubs - I was blown away by the improvements. I have never been a believer in upgrading all of my equipment every single year, but if you are playing 10+ year old clubs it's time to think about the p790's. I'm less impressed by the distance gains (30ish yards per club) and more impressed by the dispersion of miss hits. Before my mis hits would be 20 yards short and way right or left depending on if I hit of the toe/heal, now the ball is typically within 5-10 yards of the distance and not nearly as far either way. Still plenty of improvements I can make with my ball striking and swing, but these clubs will definitely help scoring moving forward.”

“Just received my “very good” condition irons. They might as well be mint because there was not one scratch! Great buy, and I will continue to buy from the site!”

TM P970 Irons

Review by Phil H., 3 years ago.

“Best feeling irons I've ever owned. Long with a high flight pattern ... even though individual lofts are stronger than average for a forged iron.”

Great irons

Review by Mun2111, 3 years ago.

“Best club I have played in my life and I have played mizuno irons for 20 years i tried the mp25 and jpx 900 tour irons before I made the switch to Taylormade p790 and if your looking for distance and playability and being able to work the ball both ways try the p790 irons especially if you you how to hit the center of the club and my misses go farther than other clubs they play a strong lift but launch high off the club face best club taylormade had made in a long time in my opinion my advice is get **** before you buy ”
