Description

The Ping G Fairway Wood is Ping’s best fairway wood yet due to its advanced aerodynamic Turbulators which increase club head speed and its easy alignment design. This fairway wood has been upgraded by lowering the leading edge so that it sits closer to the ground and moves the impact area higher on the face, giving you a more ideal launch with more forgiveness on miss hits. The Carpenter 455 face and multi-tiered internal sole construction are additional features that increase face deflection, allowing you to launch it higher and farther for ultimate distance and confidence.

  • Turbulator Technology
  • Low Leading Edge

Quite a nice fairway wood - for a senior 5 handicapper

Review by Marc H., 5 years ago.

“Was having trouble getting the Ping G30 up in the air. Got a G 5 wood to replace the G30 5 wood. Seemed like the G 5 wood was more like a 4 wood at 17.5 degrees, so its most prominent use was for the 2nd shot on par fives. Hit the driver so straight that don't need a fairway wood tee shot. Background - 65 year old, 5 handicap with a driver speed of 90 mph. Hit 90% of fairways at about 210 yards. Topped the G30 a good bit, and so that was infuriating. The G gets under the ball a little better than the G30. The Ping web site says that the weight is farther back and the bottom of the club is lower to the ground. Possible explanation, but we're talking fractions. For me, a 5 wood needs to be consistent off the fairway. Doesn't have to be really long and inconsistent, just consistent and reasonable in distance. Just get me within 75 yards of the green on the par 5s consistently. This G fairway seems to fit the bill. It's not spectacular, but it's consistent.”

Great fairway metal

Review by Larry P, 6 years ago.

“After upgrading to the Ping G driver and loving it, I **** myself with the Ping G fairway and hybrid on Ping's nFlight Web Fitting and have been very pleased with the performance over my Titleist 915F. I ordered the club in 3-Ball's "very good" classification and received a nearly brand new club. Very pleased.”

Review by Joe S., 6 years ago.

“I really like this club. It makes a great sound and looks even better. It plays about 10 yds. better than my previous wood and is great off the tee. ”

Fantastic Fairway Wood!

Review by Eric H, 5 years ago.

“This is one of the easiest fairway woods I have ever hit. It gets the ball air born extremely easy which is something I have struggled with in the past with other brands/models. The sound and feel are great and I really like the looks of it. Shots are high, straight and sit nicely. I actually bought this after I fell in love with the driver version so much. I am reaching par 5's much easier now. Do note that the head is very light so if you are the type that really likes to feel the weight of the head during the swing, this may not be the best option for you. ”
